Nobody hands you anything at middleweight. Donte Johnson — "Lockjaw" to fight fans — has built a 8-0 record the hard way, one fight at a time since leaving the United States's regional scene.
The game is built on grappling: 6 takedowns per 15 minutes, and opponents spend rounds defending instead of fighting. 1 submission wins say what happens when the defense slips. Add the southpaw stance, and the puzzle gets harder still.
He arrives on a 5-fight win streak — most recently Cody Brundage, Decision - Split. Streaks like that don't stay unnoticed for long.
