Mackenzie Dern is the UFC women's strawweight champion and the single most credentialed grappler in women's MMA — an ADCC world champion and multiple-time IBJJF world champion who was awarded her black belt by her father, the legendary Wellington 'Megaton' Dias. When people say 'world-class jiu-jitsu' about fighters, Dern is the standard they're unknowingly citing.

All eight of her finishes are submissions, which surprises nobody. What took years — and what finally made her champion — was everything else: the boxing that turned from liability to weapon, the takedown entries that no longer relied on pulling guard, the composure across five rounds.
