Michael Johnson

"The Menace". That's what they call Michael Johnson, and is part of the UFC lightweight division's deep end, fighting out of the United States — 45 pro fights in, still swinging for a number next to his name.

He fights at a pace most of the division can't hold — 4.28 strikes landed a minute, every minute. By round three, opponents are usually fighting his fight. Add the southpaw stance, and the puzzle gets harder still.

The last fight went to Drew Dober (KO/TKO (Punch) R2) — a setback, and the interesting question is always what a fighter does with one.

He's 40 now. Fighters at this stage aren't building toward something; they're spending what's left, and that usually makes for the best fights.
