Nobody hands you anything at bantamweight. Reyes Cortez Jr. — "JR" to fight fans — has built a 7-3 record the hard way, one fight at a time since leaving the United States's regional scene.
This is power striking with numbers behind it — 5 KO/TKO wins, 4.1 significant strikes landed per minute. Opponents don't get outpointed so much as dismantled.
The last fight went to Payton Talbott (Decision - Unanimous) — a setback, and the interesting question is always what a fighter does with one.
