Arman Tsarukyan Books RAF 14 Title Fight With Dillon Danis on Oct. 3

Arman Tsarukyan is stacking his fall calendar. The UFC's No. 2-ranked lightweight, currently 23-3 with six submissions on his ledger, has signed on to face Dillon Danis at RAF 14 on Oct. 3 in Las Vegas, with the promotion's inaugural crossover middleweight title on the line. It's a quick turnaround for a guy who's already booked into the UFC's own schedule this September.

Before he ever touches gloves with Danis, Tsarukyan headlines the co-main at UFC 331 against Mauricio Ruffy. That's a serious workload compression: a top-two lightweight fighting inside the Octagon and then jumping straight into RAF for a belt just weeks later. His last UFC outing was a second-round arm-triangle finish of Dan Hooker, so the grappling that RAF rewards is very much in his toolkit.

The Danis Problem

Danis, meanwhile, arrives with an ugly RAF ledger — 0-2, with losses to Colby Covington in his debut and to former UFC middleweight champ Khamzat Chimaev in a bout that dissolved into an on-stage brawl and required security to pull the two apart. He's still hunting his first win in the promotion, and now he gets a top-flight UFC wrestler standing across from him with hardware at stake.

The scheduling makes it stranger. Danis is slated to fight Mike Perry in an MMA bout in Florida roughly a month before RAF 14, meaning he's cramming two combat appearances into a tight window against opposition on entirely different levels. That's a big ask for anyone, let alone someone still looking for his first RAF victory.

Tsarukyan's Bumpy RAF Run

Tsarukyan's own RAF stint hasn't been flawless. After a hot undefeated start in the promotion, he dropped a close decision to Covington back in July — the same Covington who beat Danis and who himself sits at 17-5 in the UFC after a doctor's stoppage loss to Joaquin Buckley. So the RAF 14 title fight pits two men both trying to bounce back, only one of whom carries genuine elite pedigree.

On paper, this is a mismatch dressed up as a title fight. Tsarukyan said he's already plotting the next move after locking in UFC 331, and RAF 14 is clearly that move. The rest of the card is expected to fill out over the coming weeks — but the top line is set, and it leans heavily in the No. 2 lightweight's favor.
