Arman Tsarukyan Shuts Out Dillon Danis, Then Steps On Him at RAF 14
The UFC's #2 lightweight needed one period to reach a 10-0 tech-fall win — then nearly sparked a second brawl in 24 hours.

Arman Tsarukyan turned his grappling showdown with Dillon Danis into a formality, racking up 10 unanswered points to win the RAF 14 main event by technical superiority in the first period. The UFC's No. 2 lightweight barely had to shift into second gear — he scored push-outs, snatched takedowns, and closed the thing out before Danis could find any rhythm.
Then he nearly turned a dominant night into another mess. Twenty-four hours after Tsarukyan physically went after Danis at the pre-event press conference, he stepped on his opponent as Danis climbed off the mat. Security, clearly briefed after Thursday's chaos, flooded the surface before anything could escalate.
A One-Sided Grapple
The sequence was quick and clinical. Tsarukyan appeared to open with a slap, then a push-out for an early warning from the referee, followed by a takedown for two. Another step-out point and another takedown stacked the scoreline until he hit the 10-point threshold that ends an Olympic-style match on the spot.
That's exactly the kind of control you'd expect from a man carrying a 24-3 record with six submissions, and whose last Octagon appearance was a first-round KO of Mauricio Ruffy. Wrestling is Tsarukyan's foundation, and against a self-promoter like Danis, the gap was always going to be wide.
To his credit, Danis kept his composure after the stomp, refusing to retaliate and even shaking Tsarukyan's hand afterward. Tsarukyan, for his part, said the rivalry only ends if the two actually fight each other properly, framing this run as back-to-back work against high-level grapplers and inviting fans to come support him in Abu Dhabi.
That Abu Dhabi date lands in three weeks, and it keeps Tsarukyan busy while he waits on the bigger prize. He's made no secret of wanting UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje next — a title shot that would put the No. 2 contender exactly where his ranking suggests he belongs. The sideshow with Danis was fun. The Gaethje fight is the point.
