Contender Series Puts Tickets On Sale For First Time as Season 10 Opens

Nine seasons in, Dana White's Contender Series has always been an invite-only affair inside the APEX. That changes now. For the first time in the show's history, the UFC is selling tickets to the public — $25 a seat, capped at eight per person, available through AXS — when Season 10 opens Tuesday, August 11 at the newly renovated Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

It's a small price for what's become one of the sport's most reliable talent pipelines. Every Tuesday for 10 weeks, prospects fight for a UFC contract in front of the boss himself, with episodes streaming on Paramount+ in English and Spanish at 4pm PT / 7pm ET. The season tagline sums up the math: 100 fighters, 10 weeks, one opportunity.

Who's Fighting on Night One

The Episode 1 main event is a heavyweight collision between undefeated Anthony Wint (6-0) out of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and Matt Adams (6-2) of New Lexington, Ohio. Below that, lightweight Fabrizio Escarrega (9-1) of Ensenada, Mexico meets the unbeaten Abe Alsaghir (8-0), who fights out of Las Vegas by way of Lebanon.

The undefeated theme runs deep on the opener. Flyweight Bilal Hasan (8-0, 1 NC) takes on Mridul Saikia (9-1) of Guwahati, India, while Jon Kunneman (10-0) faces Joe Kropschot (8-3) at middleweight. There's a featherweight bout too, with Thomas Pagliarulo (10-2) against Congo's Ananias Mulumba (10-3). Five fighters walk in with a zero in the loss column.

The Alumnae Angle

Contender Series has quietly stocked the women's flyweight top 10. Maycee Barber, a Season 2 alum, sits at No. 6 with a 15-3 record, though she's coming off a first-round TKO loss to Alexa Grasso. No. 9 Tracy Cortez (12-4) is another graduate from the program, most recently dropping a decision to Wang Cong.

That's the pitch, really. The prospects grinding through Season 10 aren't just fighting for a paycheck — they're chasing the same on-ramp that put Barber and Cortez inside the divisional rankings. And for the first time, fans can watch it happen from a seat instead of a screen.
