Diego Ferreira Eyes King Green Rematch or Jim Miller After UFC Vegas 120

Diego Ferreira already knows who he wants next — he just has to beat Billy Quarantillo first. The Brazilian meets Quarantillo at UFC Vegas 120 on Saturday at the Meta APEX, and if he gets his hand raised, he's calling out either Bobby Green or Jim Miller. Both are the kind of grizzled lightweight names Ferreira, who turns 42 in January, says he admires most.

The Green fight has unfinished business written all over it. The two were booked for UFC 319 in 2025 before Green pulled out with an injury a day ahead of the official weigh-ins. Ferreira wants a do-over, partly because Green is on a tear — four straight wins over the likes of Terrance McKinney and Jeremy Stephens. If Green isn't available, Ferreira points to Miller, the UFC's iron man, who's coming off a bonus-winning finish of Jared Gordon.

Two Losses, One Mindset

Ferreira is honest about where he sits. He's dropped his last two, against Grant Dawson and Alexander Hernandez, and admits retirement crossed his mind. His coach talked him off that ledge, telling him there's still gas in the tank. So Ferreira is treating Quarantillo as the first step back — with a grappling match against Mairbek Taisumov in ACBJJ penciled in before he returns to the cage.

He also thinks the Hernandez loss came with an asterisk. That fight landed less than a month after the Green bout collapsed, meaning Ferreira cut weight twice in a short window. This time, he says the camp was clean and his preparation was at 100 percent.

Sizing Up Quarantillo

Quarantillo is walking into unfamiliar territory. This is his first UFC bout at lightweight after 11 octagon appearances at featherweight, and he arrives on a two-fight skid — stoppage losses to Youssef Zalal and Cub Swanson, the latter a third-round TKO. His record sits at 18-7 with eight knockouts and five submissions, so the finishing threat is real. Ferreira isn't fussed about the weight jump or the losing streak, noting they're both coming off two defeats and both have something to prove.

Ferreira reckons Quarantillo likes to soak up damage and drag opponents into deep-water rounds, and he's planning to close the distance and force his own fight. The bigger picture is what drives him. He remembers the run of six or seven straight UFC wins that put him in the title conversation alongside Charles Oliveira — a stretch he says he didn't fully appreciate at the time. Cracking the top 15 again won't be easy, he concedes, but he wants one more taste of the top 10 before he's done.
