Dillon Danis Bails on Mike Perry With 48 Hours' Notice

Dillon Danis has pulled out of his Saturday fight with Mike Perry just 48 hours before the Dual Arena card, and the news didn't come from a press release — it came from Perry himself, live at Thursday's pre-fight presser. Perry announced that Danis was a no-show and won't compete, then confirmed a replacement was already on a plane.

That replacement is UFC and MVP MMA veteran Brandon Jenkins, who takes the bout on two days' notice and now shares the headline slot on a card expected to air on pay-per-view. Jenkins is coming off a win over Chris Avila on the MVP MMA show in California back in May, and Perry made a point of praising him for agreeing to fly in, weigh in like a professional, and actually show up.

The Perry-Danis matchup was always a coin flip to happen, and history suggests the odds weren't great. Danis has a well-documented habit of signing contracts and then vanishing. He booked two separate boxing matches with KSI, and neither one ever materialized after he dropped out.

The Danis Track Record

To be fair, Danis has been more visible lately, even if not always in a fight kit. He took part in a pair of grappling exhibitions against Colby Covington and Khamzat Chimaev in RAF — the latter now the UFC's No. 1 middleweight at 15-1 — but Saturday was set to be his first scheduled MMA bout since he beat an overmatched Warren Spencer at Misfits in August 2025.

So the pattern held. A big-name booking, plenty of noise, and then an empty spot on fight week. This time, though, there was a professional waiting in the wings to fill it.

What's Left on the Card

The Dual Arena show still has some familiar faces beyond the new main event. UFC veteran Jimi Manuwa is set to return, and Phil Rowe is also on the bill, with both men competing in separate boxing matches rather than MMA. That gives Saturday's card a genuine crossover flavor even with its headliner reshuffled at the last minute.

For Perry, the story is simple: he showed up, his original opponent didn't, and he's got a live body across from him regardless. Jenkins gets a headline slot and a payday he didn't have 24 hours ago. Danis gets another entry in a growing file of fights that never quite happened.
