DWCS Season 10 Episode 2: Trent Miller Gets His Redemption Shot

Dana White's Contender Series rolls into Episode 2 of Season 10 on Tuesday, and the headline story is a fighter who's been here before. Trent Miller, a 30-year-old out of Xtreme Couture, is back for a second crack at a UFC contract after coming up short on the show last year. He carries an 8-3 record with six knockouts, and he says he's rebuilt his game since that loss — trading a striking-first approach for a rounder attack that folds in wrestling and grappling.

The stakes are the same as always on DWCS: five bouts, White and a panel scoring live, and a contract handed out only if the performance earns it. That bar isn't theoretical. Season 9 tied a show record with 46 athletes signed, so the pathway is real — Jack Della Maddalena (Season 5), Sean O'Malley (Season 1) and Jamahal Hill (Season 3) all punched their UFC tickets here. Della Maddalena has since climbed to #4 at welterweight with an 18-4 mark.

The Prospect With the Best Résumé

On paper, Namo Fazil is the name to watch. The 29-year-old Tiger Muay Thai product owns a 10-1 record and an extensive kickboxing background, and he's chasing the show's most familiar prize with an unusually vivid mission: born in Iraq, raised in Finland, he wants to fight under the Kurdistan banner and put his people on the map. Fazil calls himself a stand-and-bang showman and talks openly about two-division UFC gold. Bold, but the record backs the swagger.

Brazil is well-represented too. Kaik Brito, 29, comes from a Muay Thai base built out in Curitiba's Black Thai Team, and he leans on flying knees and highlight-reel finishes — the kind of violence DWCS judges tend to reward. Then there's Douglas 'Blade' Rodrigues, 27, of the Astra Fighting Team, a 7-1 knockout artist who says he's patched the grappling holes that cost him his only pro loss. He's fighting with a kid on the way, which seems to be a running theme this episode.

Miller's in the same boat — he pointed to the impending birth of his first child as the reason this second chance means everything. That's a lot of motivation packed into one card, and it lines up with the show's whole premise: these are people fighting to change their lives in a single night in front of the one man who can green-light it.
