Four Prospects Grab UFC Deals in Wild DWCS Season 10, Week 9
Preston LaGrange, Sal Everett, Roque Conceicao and Mateus Soares all closed inside the first round — and one of them was literally on White's payroll.

The penultimate week of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 didn't bother with suspense. Four prospects fought at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on October 7, and all four walked out with UFC contracts after finishing inside the opening round. Middleweight Preston LaGrange, welterweight Sal Everett, flyweight Roque Conceicao and bantamweight Mateus Soares each heard the line every prospect waits for.
Soares made White's job the easiest of the night. The 22-year-old bantamweight blitzed Japan's Ryuho Miyaguchi from the opening bell and unloaded until the fight was waved off at 63 seconds. White called him an absolute killer and said he was exactly what he'd been hoping to see. There was nothing to debate.
No Doubt, No Patience
Soares isn't planning a slow build, either. He said signing was one dream realized and the next is already underway, and he made it clear he came to fight the best because he believes he is the best. He even floated jumping in on short notice — if there's a fight on Saturday, he says he's ready. That's a bold swing for a fresh signing in a bantamweight division already stacked with killers.
Conceicao's story carried more weight because he'd been here before. A year ago at the same venue, the flyweight dropped Imanol Rodriguez but still lost the decision to the Mexican. Rodriguez — now 8-1 (7 KO, 1 SUB) and unranked at 125 — went on to knock out Alden Coria in his most recent outing, so that was no soft loss on Conceicao's record.
This time Conceicao left no room for the judges. He pressured unbeaten Alexander Chavez, survived a heavy slam, and tightened a triangle choke from the bottom to force the tap in round one. White loved the whole package — the striking, the kicks, the scramble, the finish off his back — and signed him on the spot. Conceicao called it the best day of his life and compared the moment to playing in a World Cup.
LaGrange and Everett rounded out the clean sweep with their own first-round finishes, Everett closing his bout by knockout. Four contracts, four early stoppages, and a Season 10 finale now looming. For a show built on manufactured pressure, Week 9 delivered the kind of night that makes the decisions write themselves.
