The statement ends days of speculation over a return timeline following what were reported to be several significant injuries. Topuria didn't just announce his comeback, though. He fired shots at the people counting him out, thanked his supporters, and lobbed a new accusation at Gaethje.

For the first time, Topuria suggested Gaethje had something "weird" on his gloves during the fight, saying he'd make sure they got checked next time. Gaethje won the fight cleanly on the scorecards of everyone watching, taking over in the championship rounds and piling on enough punishment to force the stoppage.

The obvious play is a rematch. That first fight was chaos, and chaos sells, so running it back immediately would make sense given the attention and ratings it pulled. But there's a louder rivalry humming in the background: Paddy Pimblett. The two have been trading jabs for a couple of years now, and a Topuria–Pimblett booking would print money on both sides of the Atlantic.
