Jessie Rosas always figured he'd wind up in the UFC next to his younger brother Raul Rosas Jr. He just didn't expect it to happen on a week's notice. The 23-year-old prospect, riding a three-fight winning streak to an 8-1 record, got a 9 a.m. FaceTime from his manager on his way to training telling him he had a UFC debut lined up at the APEX. He said yes on the spot.

Rosas fights Miles Johns at UFC Vegas 120 this Saturday, and he's honest about what short notice actually means: there's no time to overhaul a game plan, so you just go in and fight. That suits him fine. He said he's mainly excited to show the wider audience what he can do — and he's doing it with his brother in his corner.

The Family Pipeline

The Raul Rosas Jr. connection was made the second Jessie's booking dropped, and that's no accident. Raul signed with the UFC as a teenager and turned himself into one of the promotion's more marketable bantamweight prospects, and he's spent years telling anyone with a microphone that he wants his siblings on the roster. Jessie is the first to make it. He says older brother Kevin and older sister Kenya are prospects worth keeping an eye on too.
