Kye Genesis Locks Up Brutal Arm-Break as Diaz Falls to 0-6

Some submissions end when a hand slaps the mat. This one ended before the tap ever came. At Cage Titans 78 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, amateur Kye Genesis clamped down on an armlock so tight and so fast that opponent David Diaz's arm bent the wrong way before he had any real chance to save it. It's an early front-runner for the ugliest submission of 2026, and that's a crowded field.

The result drops Diaz to 0-6 as an amateur, with five of those six defeats coming in the opening round. That's not a slump — that's a pattern. There's no shame in stepping away to heal up and rethink the whole thing, and the numbers are shouting exactly that.

Quebec's Quiet Comeback Kings

Elsewhere, Samourai MMA continued doubling as a rehab clinic for guys the bigger promotions spat out. Former PFL fighter Michael Dufort closed out a card in Quebec with a slick triangle-hammerlock combination to bag his fourth straight lightweight title defense. On the same night, Mohamed Ado kept building his own redemption arc. His 2024 Contender Series run lasted all of three minutes before Jonathan Micallef tapped him, and two more losses followed in Unified MMA. Since landing at Samourai, the 26-year-old has ripped off back-to-back quick knockouts, capped by a 25-second demolition of Mac Laursen.

Blood Diamond Finds No Mercy

The redemption theme didn't stretch to everyone. UFC washout Blood Diamond, whose Octagon run ended at 3-3 (his last outing a decision loss to Charles Radtke), got sent into a spin cycle at a Vault Fighting League show in Dubai. Former Glory title contender Alim Nabiev cracked him with a right, then a left that had Diamond completely turned around and out of the fight.

There was Rosas family business too. Raul Rosas Jr.'s brother Kevin shone at CFFC 161 in Rockford, Illinois, taking a win via leg lock, while Jessie Rosas struggled at Noche UFC against Sean King. LFA 241 in Minas Gerais, meanwhile, was pure carnage — Laryssa Leila, Thalyta Silva, Lucas Silva and Adam Santos all delivered highlight-reel knockouts on one card.

And if you want the filthiest finish of the batch, look to Muay Thai. At the Rajadamnern World Series in Thailand, Thanupetch had Joachim Ouraghi pinned to the ropes and dropped an elbow that knocked him cold. The catch: Ouraghi never fell, so he ate an unprotected knee to the ribs and one more elbow before hitting the canvas. Rough business, all of it.
