Mike Perry's Shoulder Pops, and Brandon Jenkins Cashes In on 48 Hours' Notice

Mike Perry's fight week fell apart in stages, and it ended flat on the canvas. On Saturday, the "King of Violence" suffered a dislocated left shoulder and a first-round TKO loss at 2:38 to late replacement Brandon Jenkins, capping a chaotic build that saw his original opponent, Dillon Danis, pull out just two days before the event.

Perry stepped up and took the short-notice matchup anyway. Jenkins, meanwhile, said he got the call on roughly 15 hours' notice and didn't think twice — he'd asked for Nate Diaz, got Perry instead, and now wants the Diaz fight to follow.

The finish itself was ugly and freakish. Perry came out swinging, backing Jenkins up before eating a slick spinning back elbow. Then, mid-exchange, replays showed Perry's left shoulder pop out of place while he clung to Jenkins and fired right uppercuts. The referee let it continue.

For Jenkins, it's the biggest win of his career, delivered on almost no notice against a name most casual fans actually recognize. Whether that translates into the Diaz callout he's chasing is another question, but he did his part — accept the fight, show up, and close the show inside a round.
