Power Slap sets up shop in Texas for the first time on Thursday, September 17, when Power Slap 23 lands at United Supermarkets Arena on the Texas Tech campus in Lubbock. The main event pits reigning Light Heavyweight Champion Wolverine — unbeaten across his last five matches and a three-year fixture atop the division — against No. 1 contender Logan "Kill Shot" Greenhalgh, who arrives on the back of three consecutive knockouts.
The timing is no accident. The card runs the night before the Red Raiders open their Big 12 slate against Houston at Galaxy Stadium, dropping Dana White's slapping venture straight into a college football weekend and the crowd that comes with it. White said the goal is to put the sport in front of thousands of students and national sports media at once.
The Numbers Behind the Pitch
White claims Power Slap is on pace for 9 billion views and 3 million new followers this year, and he's leaning hard on the three-year build to frame it as the fastest-growing viral property in sports. Whatever you make of the discipline itself, those are the figures the promotion is putting on the table as it expands into new markets.
The headliner is a genuine contrast in styles and momentum. Wolverine has held the light heavyweight belt for over three years and is billed as one of the most dominant champions in the promotion's short history. Greenhalgh, meanwhile, is the division's most dangerous mover right now — three straight finishes will do that for a contender's stock.
Young Defends in the Co-Main
The co-main event has Welterweight Champion Cole "Born Again" Young making his second title defense in two months against Andrew "Big Bad Wolf" Provost. Young is fresh off a dominant win over Brandon Rhodes at Power Slap 21 and is positioned as the best welterweight in the sport.
Provost brings his own case. He hasn't lost since 2023 and made a statement his last time out, knocking out former champion Anthony Blackburn in a sudden victory round. Tickets are on sale through AXS, and the rest of the Power Slap 23 card is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
