Roberto Soldic Hits Free Agency After ONE Contract Expires

Roberto Soldic is officially a free agent. The 31-year-old former KSW two-division champion confirmed Friday that his ONE Championship contract has expired, closing out a four-year stint that produced just three fights between 2021 and 2025.

That's the number worth chewing on: three bouts in four years. "Robocop" was one of Europe's most feared knockout artists when ONE signed him, but the promotion never got him moving with any regularity. His ONE ledger reads a spectacular stoppage of Dagi Arslanaliev, a no-contest against Murad Ramazanov, and a loss to Zebaztian Kadestam. Not the run either side wanted.

In his farewell note, Soldic thanked ONE for the opportunity and framed his exit as a fresh start rather than a goodbye, telling fans this is the beginning of whatever comes next. He kept busy outside the cage, too — his most recent appearance was a September 2025 boxing match in Poland, where he knocked out heavyweight veteran Tomasz Adamek.

What He Actually Brings

To understand why free agency matters here, rewind to KSW. Soldic won eight of nine there and held belts at both welterweight and middleweight. His only loss in that stretch came by knockout against Dricus Du Plessis — yes, that Dricus Du Plessis, now the UFC's No. 2 middleweight at 24-3. Soldic avenged it six months later, knocking Du Plessis out to reclaim the 170-pound strap.

Beating a future UFC champion by KO isn't a line most free agents can put on their CV. Du Plessis has since gone on to headline pay-per-views and stack a 24-3 record built on 9 knockouts and 11 submissions. Soldic owns a clean finish over him. That kind of résumé tends to get phones ringing.

So the obvious question: where next? Soldic's inactivity is the red flag, but a 31-year-old wel/middleweight with heavy hands, title pedigree in two divisions and name value across Europe is exactly the profile promotions gamble on. He didn't tip his hand on a destination. He just said, essentially, see you soon — and given how little we've seen of him lately, that can't come fast enough.
