Silva vs Wang: The Vacant Flyweight Title Lands on CBS at UFC 332

Saturday's UFC 332 at Salt Lake City's Delta Center carries some genuine history: it's the first UFC main card to air on CBS. Fitting, then, that the marquee fight settles a vacant belt. With Valentina Shevchenko forced out through injury, Natalia Silva and Wang Cong now meet to claim the empty women's flyweight throne.

Silva has been untouchable since arriving in the promotion, running her UFC record to 8-0 and stretching her overall win streak to 14. The 29-year-old Brazilian's last three victims read like a title-shot resume: former champs Jessica Andrade, Alexa Grasso and Rose Namajunas. Her game is built on speed, volume kicks and footwork that leaves opponents swinging at air.

Wang isn't walking in as a body, either. "The Joker" owns the best striking differential in the division and is statistically its most accurate striker ever, and she's on a four-fight run after out-working Tracy Cortez at UFC 329. This should be a technical firefight, which means the quieter battles matter most.

Where It Could Turn

Both women live on the feet, so the grappling exchanges become the swing factor. Wang has shown she'll happily work the clinch and top position; Silva has sharp timing on her takedown entries. There's another wrinkle worth flagging: neither has headlined a UFC card before, so a five-round fight at altitude is unknown territory for both.

The co-main pits former flyweight king Deiveson Figueiredo against rising Reno product Payton Talbott. Figueiredo (25-7-1) brings a huge experience edge but has gone just 1-4 across his last five, with his most recent outing a second-round submission loss to Song Yadong. Talbott returns for the first time since out-working Henry Cejudo at UFC 323 last December, hunting a second consecutive former champion.

If you want chaos, look at the lightweight scrap between King Green and Esteban Ribovics — the pre-event Fight of the Night favorite, assuming it lasts. Green, 40, is 7-3 over his last 10 and has finished Daniel Zellhuber, Jeremy Stephens and Terrance McKinney in a row. Ribovics has been appointment viewing, going 5-2 over seven fights with three Fight of the Night bonuses and a second-round stoppage of Edson Barboza most recently. Elsewhere, long-awaited KSW two-division champ Roberto Soldic finally debuts against knockout artist Khaos Williams.
