UFC Returns to Doha on November 21 as Qatar Card Locks In Date

The UFC is going back to Qatar. The promotion and Visit Qatar confirmed a return to Doha's Abha Arena on Saturday, November 21, with tickets set to go on sale Friday, October 9. It's the second UFC event in the city in roughly 12 months, a quick turnaround that says plenty about how the debut went.

That first card — UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Hooker in November 2025 — sold out the building and delivered a genuinely meaningful main event. Arman Tsarukyan submitted Dan Hooker via second-round arm triangle to reinforce his case as the No. 2 lightweight in a division stacked with contenders. The Armenian now sits at 23-3 and is booked next against Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331.

Why Doha Made the Cut

Dana White didn't hide his enthusiasm, saying the hospitality, the food and the atmosphere in Doha left a strong impression during his visit last year. Visit Qatar CEO Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi framed the return as part of the country's push to stack its calendar with world-class sporting events and grow its standing as a global host destination.

The economics are straightforward. These government-and-private partnerships let the UFC plant flags in new markets while the host region converts fight week into tourism, hospitality and international exposure. Qatar clearly wants the second date to build on the first.

The Fighters Who Made the Debut Land

Beyond Tsarukyan's finish, the 2025 Doha card featured Ian Machado Garry beating Belal Muhammad to keep climbing the welterweight ladder. Garry now holds the No. 1 spot at 170 pounds with a 17-2 record, though his run since then hit a wall — he dropped a decision to Islam Makhachev in his most recent outing. Muhammad, a former champion, sits at 24-6 and No. 7 after his own recent decision loss to Gabriel Bonfim.

No fights have been announced for the November 21 card yet, but the template is set. The first Doha show punched above its weight on paper and delivered in the cage. Fans wanting first crack at seats can register interest at UFC.com/Qatar ahead of the October 9 on-sale.
