UFC Returns to Sydney on Feb 7 for First Fight Night Since 2017

The UFC is heading back to Sydney. UFC Fight Night Sydney lands at Afterpay Arena — the venue you probably still know as Qudos Bank Arena — on Sunday, February 7, 2027, marking the promotion's first Fight Night in the Harbour City since 2017.

This one keeps a streak alive. It's the fourth consecutive year the UFC has run an event in New South Wales, cementing what's become a fixture on the summer sporting calendar Down Under. Why Sydney Keeps Getting Cards

The numbers explain the loyalty. All three sold-out UFC events in Sydney since 2023 have combined for close to AUD $200 million in total economic impact for the state. That's a serious return, and it's why the NSW Government, through Destination New South Wales, keeps writing the checks to bring the Octagon back.

The most recent visit set the bar high. UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2, held at the same arena earlier this year, drew a sold-out crowd and posted a record-breaking gate. Hard to argue with results like that.

UFC's Senior Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, Peter Kloczko, said the promotion is thrilled to be back and credited the ongoing partnership with the NSW Government for delivering world-class events and strong visitor-economy outcomes. On the government side, Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper framed the return as another win for local business and jobs, noting Sydney will take centre stage for the first time in nearly a decade.

As always, expect a full fight week: open workouts, a press conference and ceremonial weigh-ins, all free and open to the public. The card and future bout announcements still need sign-off from the New South Wales Combat Sports Commission, and no fights have been confirmed yet.
