Nobody hands you anything at lightweight. Shem Rock has built a 12-3 record the hard way, one fight at a time since leaving England's regional scene.
A submission threat first and always — 9 taps forced in 12 wins. Every exchange on the mat carries a trap door. Add the southpaw stance, and the puzzle gets harder still.
The last fight went to Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady (Decision - Unanimous) — a setback, and the interesting question is always what a fighter does with one.
