At #13 in the lightweight rankings, Tom Nolan — "Big Train" to fight fans — is past the "prospect" stage. This is contender territory, and every fight from here is a title eliminator in disguise.

He fights at a pace most of the division can't hold — 4.84 strikes landed a minute, every minute. By round three, opponents are usually fighting his fight. Add the southpaw stance, and the puzzle gets harder still.

The form line is loud: 5 straight wins, the latest over Farés Ziam (Decision - Unanimous). Momentum like that forces the division's hand.

At 26 years old with 12 fights of experience already banked, the trajectory matters more than the current ranking.
