Dakota Ditcheva is back in the gym and done waiting. The flyweight standout says she's fully cleared following surgery on both hands, and she wants one thing next: her PFL belt back, with Jena Bishop standing across from her.
The timeline is the headline here. Ditcheva says she healed inside nine weeks this time around — fast by any standard for a double-hand procedure — and she's already strung together several weeks of grappling work. The striking came later, deliberately, since there's no fight locked in to rush toward.
Her approach to the recovery tells you plenty about how she's thinking. With no opponent and no date on the calendar, Ditcheva leaned into the one thing she could sharpen without risking her hands: her wrestling and ground game. That's the sensible play for a fighter whose reputation was built on hands she couldn't fully use during rehab.
The Title She Wants Back
The call-out is Jena Bishop, and the prize is the strap Ditcheva says she intends to reclaim. She made no secret of it — she's ready, she's cleared, and she's simply waiting on a date. For a fighter sidelined by surgery, that's about as clean a return message as you'll get.
What's missing is the only thing Ditcheva can't control: a booking. She's done the medical part and the grappling part. Now it's on the promotion to hand her the matchup she's asking for and put a time stamp on it.
Until that date lands, Ditcheva's status is straightforward. Healthy, training, and openly gunning for Bishop and the belt. The rest is paperwork.
