DWCS Season 10 Episode 5: Undefeated Prospects and One Man's Second Shot

Week five of Dana White's Contender Series lands at the UFC Apex on September 8, and the math on this card is brutal in the best way: five fights, and any number of UFC contracts — or none — depending on what White and his matchmakers see. Four of the athletes booked walk in undefeated, which tells you how stacked the prospect pool has gotten this deep into season 10. The episode airs Tuesday night on Paramount+, 7pm ET / 4pm PT.

The name most fans will recognize is Kwon Won Il, back for a second crack at the show. The 31-year-old bantamweight carries a 14-6 record with 12 knockouts, but his last appearance ended badly — a second-round KO loss to Juan Diaz, delivered by a spinning back elbow, per the FightSplit database. He hasn't fought since. That's a long layoff for a man who says he gave up everything to chase this, and he's framing week five as his shot at proving he still belongs.

The Perfect Records

Then there's the wave of unbeaten talent. Quentin Pasley, 24, is 3-0 as a pro with every single win coming by first-round knockout, and a 7-0 amateur run to match. His story has more scar tissue than most: two torn ACLs, the second one wrecking a scheduled DWCS spot last season and costing him a year. He's back and healthy now.

Kosovo-based Albanian Arlind Berisha, 25, hasn't seen a second round yet — 5-0, all first-round finishes, capped by a 31-second submission in his most recent outing. He's also got an IMMAF World Cup gold on the amateur ledger. Isaac Moreno rounds out the undefeated crowd at 8-0 with five KOs, a karate black belt and a point-fighting world title behind the striking style he calls 'The Assassin.'

Grapplers and Grinders

The rest of the field brings varied resumes. Martin Kozák, a 24-year-old RFA champion out of Slovakia, is 6-0 with four KOs and two subs, and his 'CEO' nickname isn't subtle — he wants White to walk away convinced he just watched a future champion. Brazil's Reginaldo Junior, 11-1 and training with the Fighting Nerds in São Paulo, leans on his grappling but claims he's 95% sure he ends things before the third round.

Christian Echols is the outlier at 8-4, a middleweight submission specialist and BJJ brown belt from Birmingham. He started his career 0-2 and, by his own account, hit bottom — addiction, an arrest — before rebuilding through faith, family and coaching. He says the chase now is about showing his daughter he never quit. Different roads, same door: get through White's panel on Tuesday, and everything changes.
