Reed, unranked at 8-5 (2 KO, 0 SUB), brings a resume that dwarfs Dyer's on paper — a former CFFC strawweight champion who beat Jasmine Jasudavicius for that title before two defenses. But she's gone just 4-4 in the UFC and is coming off a second-round TKO loss to Denise Gomes.

The bonus check triggered a brief online-shopping impulse, Dyer admitted, before she realized she didn't actually want much. She bought a small car for the London commute and funneled the rest straight back into her career. Her philosophy is blunt: the best investment is self-investment, and she now has the funds to run the best camp possible without excuses.

That meant relocating to the States roughly two weeks early. She's been putting the UFC brand to work — training at the Performance Institute in Vegas, hitting Xtreme Couture, sitting in on Sean Strickland's class, and catching cards live. As she put it, winning her debut in emphatic fashion gave her the license to fully call herself a UFC fighter and use every service on offer. The training, she added with a laugh, hasn't gotten easier, but it's gotten simpler.

The Matchup

Reed owns the experience edge and knows what fighting under UFC lights feels like — Dyer doesn't pretend otherwise. But the Londoner isn't losing sleep over it. She sees a striker she believes she out-strikes, and a grappling department nobody's tested her in yet. She's been fighting half her life, she says, and she knows exactly what she's doing on Saturday night.

Her standard hasn't moved. A win alone won't satisfy her — she's chasing another finish and another bonus, and considers anything short of a stoppage a day where she didn't hit her peak. Given how her debut went, Reed has fair warning. Whether Dyer backs up the talk twice in a row is the only question worth asking in Sacramento.
