Real American Freestyle just did something no wrestling promotion has done: it booked a spot at the movies. On Thursday, RAF officials confirmed a deal with AMC Theatres to beam RAF 14 onto the big screen in 40 locations starting Oct. 23, spread across 10 wrestling-heavy markets including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Tampa, Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Oklahoma City.

The card headlining that theatrical debut isn't short on MMA star power. Arman Tsarukyan — the UFC's No. 2-ranked lightweight at 24-3 with six submissions on his ledger — meets Dillon Danis for the inaugural middleweight crossover title. In the co-main, former UFC middleweight champ Khamzat Chimaev steps back onto the mats against ex-welterweight king Robbie Lawler.

Advanced tickets are already on sale at select theaters in those markets. Co-founder Chad Bronstein framed the AMC tie-up as a family play, saying RAF wants parents and kids to fill hometown theaters and experience live wrestling together — part of the broader pitch to grow the sport and hook the next generation of fans.

The Pedigree Behind the Headliner

Tsarukyan is the real draw here on paper. He's riding off a first-round knockout of Mauricio Ruffy in his most recent UFC appearance, and his grappling base is exactly the kind of credential that translates to a freestyle format. Danis, by contrast, brings name recognition and controversy rather than a wrestling resume — which is precisely the tension a crossover title is built to exploit.

Chimaev's inclusion raises the ceiling. The reigning UFC middleweight No. 1 sits at 15-1, split evenly between knockouts and submissions, and his last Octagon outing was a razor-thin split decision against Sean Strickland. Watching a grappler of his caliber compete under straight wrestling rules is the sort of novelty RAF is banking on to justify a cinema rollout.

RAF isn't stopping at Chicago, either. The promotion's slate stretches into an Abu Dhabi debut featuring names like Umar Nurmagomedov, Urijah Faber, Julianna Pena and a cruiserweight crossover title bout between Colby Covington and Chimaev. There's also a Donald Cerrone–Anthony Pettis rematch on the mats set for Nov. 28 back in Chicago.

Putting wrestling in AMC auditoriums is a swing. Whether families actually buy tickets to watch Tsarukyan grind out a crossover champion is the open question — but as a statement of ambition, RAF 14 is the clearest signal yet that this promotion wants to be seen everywhere, not just streamed to a niche.
