Four Undefeated Prospects Land UFC Deals on DWCS Week 5

Dana White handed out four UFC contracts on Week 5 of Dana White's Contender Series, and every recipient walked in unbeaten and walked out the same way. Light heavyweight Quentin Pasley, welterweight Isaac Moreno, middleweight Martin Kozak and flyweight Christian Natividad all did enough at the Meta APEX on Tuesday to hear the four words they came for.

The headliner drew the loudest reaction. Pasley had just three pro fights on his ledger, a résumé thin enough that White openly wondered why the 24-year-old was topping a card stacked with more seasoned prospects. Pasley answered in under a round, brutalizing fellow undefeated fighter Arlind Berisha with ground-and-pound elbows for a first-round knockout.

The Jon Jones Comparison

White didn't reach for a small name to describe it. He said Pasley reminded a lot of people in the building of Jon Jones, the fighter whose 28-1 record (11 KO, 7 SUB) still stands as the sport's most decorated résumé. Pasley, softly spoken and short on theatrics, admitted the comparison floored him — Jones is his favorite fighter — but he made clear he plans to build his own name rather than copy Bones.

It's heady praise for a fighter who's barely three fights deep. The upside is the point, though. Pasley's composure in the biggest bout of his career, against another 0-loss opponent, is exactly the kind of ceiling White drafts DWCS cards around.

Moreno's Wedding-Week Contract

Isaac Moreno's night came with a subplot. The welterweight told Laura Sanko he was heading straight to the Little White Chapel to get married after outbattling Brazil's Reginaldo Junior across three rounds for a unanimous decision. White kept him sweating, praising the win while questioning why Moreno shot for a takedown after escaping a bad spot with two minutes left in the third.

The verdict landed anyway. White admitted he'd argued with the matchmakers to get Moreno signed, calling himself the believer in the room. Now 9-0 at 28, Moreno left with a contract and, as he pointed out, all his teeth intact for the ceremony. Kozak, a 6-foot-4 Slovakian striker who cuts an unusual frame at middleweight, rounded out the quartet alongside flyweight Natividad.
