Debuts don't usually look like this.

Daniel Cormier went as far as calling it the best UFC debut ever. That's a big swing, but the finish backs the hype — Parnasse didn't grind out a nervy decision or feel his way in. He walked into a top-10 name and closed the show inside a round, then wasted no time telling everyone who he wants next.

The Holloway Callout

Parnasse named Max Holloway on the mic, and it's a fascinating ask for a guy with zero Octagon time before Saturday. Holloway is a genuine star, and a matchup like that would fast-track Parnasse into main-event territory. Whether the UFC actually bites is another question entirely — one impressive night rarely earns a fighter that kind of leap.

For Hooker, this stings. The New Zealander has spent years as a durable gatekeeper and fan-favorite scrapper, but getting stopped in the first by a newcomer reshuffles his standing at 155. His ranking is unlikely to survive this untouched.

MVP's UFC Chapter Closes

The other big storyline out of the weekend was Michael Venom Page fighting his final bout under UFC contract. Dana White has already addressed Page being pulled from the rankings, and Jake Paul has publicly floated signing him to MVP MMA. A move to Paul's promotion would keep Page relevant on a different stage.

There's plenty more bubbling too. UFC 332 got its main event reveal — Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong for the vacant women's flyweight title — and the reaction has been rough, with Brendan Schaub branding it historically bad. Valentina Shevchenko no longer sitting atop that division is part of why the booking has landed the way it has.
